I love Vim!
Welcome at my Samsung DV300F PC auto backup for Linux or Mac OS X site.

This software is NOT provided by Samsung. They will NOT give any support or whatever regarding this website or software.

Tell me, what is it.
It is a daemon that runs on a Linux or Mac OS X system and allows a Samsung DV300F digital photo camera to auto backup its photos into a folder.

This code is also one big hack as for me it was quicker to just hack some code around a Wireshark dump then to properly figure out how the camera works.
Luckily Jeff has more patience then me, so also have a look at his project at http://code.google.com/p/pc-autobackup/. It also supports the NX1000 and the WB150F!

Tell me about the copyright.

What state is the software in? How stable is it?
The software itself seems stable. However it has not been tested by many yet. So if you have problems using the software, then please contact me!

How do I install it?
Check out the README inside the downloaded package. In short; extract, make, make install. It will install in /usr/local/bin/

How do I run it as a daemon?
Something like this: /usr/local/bin/dv300f -i 1.2.3.4 -f /path/to/fotos -d
Replace 1.2.3.4 with the IP address of your system and of course give the right path to where you want the photos stored. Photos will be stored the same way as the Windows version does a folder per date and in there the actual SAM_xxxx.JPG file.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU LOSE DATA! (but please mail me, if it does...)
